Discussion: how would you celebrate your business 10th anniversary?

Later this year the company I work for is celebrating its 10th anniversary. We're in the midst of planning some events for staff, customers and other stakeholders and the exercise is interesting - we get to brainstorm lots of interesting ideas.

What about you, how would you celebrate your company's 10th anniversary? What would you organise for your best clients? Leave a comment after the post and let's start the discussion.

(Note: This post is inspired by a group writing project on ProBlogger)

  1. Hi Christelle. Perhaps you could hold some of sort of competition with a great prize. For instance you could get bloggers to write a short blog post wishing you a happy 10th birthday, and maybe detailing how you have helped them over the years. They could then email you the link to their post, and you can write a blog post linking to all these, thanking them for their birthday wishes. Out of all these you could select a winner, either random or based on their post. The prize could be some free blog consulting. After completing, you could encourage them to write about their experience of your service.

  2. Hi Jon, thanks for your input. Nice idea but it won't work for the company I work for, we offer internal services so our blog is on our intranet. But I like the idea of the contest and customers telling us how we helped them. I'll reflect upon that.

  3. Just off the top of my head, how about bowling. There are 10 pins and 10 frames. Seems to go with the theme. This could be an internal celebration or an event for your top 10 clients.

  4. Hi Christelle: what about a 10-year "retrospective" - using the forum of your choice. You could show what your stakeholders have asked for over the past 10 years, and how your company has accomplished it (what you've done). Then you could look ahead to the future, asking your stakeholders for input on projected business for continued growth; and you can address each idea directly by showing what you can do together. Maybe something informal to encourage participation, but still emphasizing professionalism.

  5. We thought about using the number 10 to play around, but didn't think of bowling, thanks for the suggestion!

  6. Thanks Meg, yes we want to do something like this. Not sure whether it would be a brochure, video, but nice idea.

  7. To show my gratitude I'd like to throw a party and invited all my premium clients to celebrate!

BTW, I also second the John Rode's idea!
